Women : Staying Warm When It Is Cold Outside

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

If you’re looking to wrap up warm while staying stylish this winter, then we have some great tips for you. Your starting point should be warmth, with layers being a great way to achieve this. Even getting too hot, and having to take one layer off, this is much better than being too cold. Also, layering several cute tees looks cool.

For something to wear over your layers, then you can’t go far wrong with a hoody. You can make a statement to the world by getting one with a cool design or slogan on it. Either way, a thick, snuggly hoody will certainly keep out the winter chills. Get one with a fleece lined hood to keep your head extra warm. There are lots of hoodies with a feminine look available these days, so don’t worry that by wearing one you’ll look too boyish.

What better excuse than winter is there for shoe lovers to buy a new pair? You don’t want to be sliding about all over the place because you’re wearing your grip-less summer shoes. Boots are a great purchase. Opt for a pair of knee high boots with good treads on the bottom, that way chances of nasty slips and falls are minimized. Boots are also great for keeping your lower legs warm. They come in loads of styles and designs, but black leather ones are always a good choice.

No winter wardrobe is complete without a good coat or two. You have many style options here – from ski jackets to stylish leather trenches. Stick with dark colors if you want to wear your coat with anything. If you’re someone who likes to make a real style statement though, opt for a bold color, like purple, red or green. There are also some great patterned coats available at the moment.

Finally – accessories. Accessories are a great way to add some color and flair to your winter outfits. Color matching gloves, scarf and hat are a must-have. Be brave with your color choices, especially if you’re wearing a dark colored coat. And, get yourself a nice, new winter bag too – one that is big enough to keep your gloves and things in when you’re inside and not wearing them.

Crazy Golf: Where Did It Come From?

Sunday, April 25th, 2010

Of course you wouldn’t see Tiger Woods playing this form of the sport (or would you at the moment) but mini golf has a very important role in the world too.

Many people will actually argue that putting is a form of mini golf which means that if this is the case it was founded in 1867 at the St Andrews golf club in Scotland. This 18 hole putting course is still there today but because women were not really allowed to play golf back in these times they were often simply told to go and play on the 18 hole putting greens.

Over time these kinds of courses were popping up all over the place until eventually it had become customary for major hotels across England and the US to have these style of courses. A mini putter was used as well as a short driver and it was often called garden golf or clock golf.

North Carolina was the very first location of the mini golf course that we would recgonise today and this was formed in 1916. Once the artificial green had started to be used it really kicked off and it became accessible everywhere and by the late 1920s there were over 150 courses on the rooftops of New York alone!

Although you can’t load up those marine batteries and leisure batteries and put them in your mini golf trolleys You can even get a mini trolley to fit in your favourite mini putters.

All the major destinations in the world will have at least one mini golf course no including huge places such as Disney World in Florida, it just goes to show how popular the game has become.

The game has become popular because it is great fun to do for the entire family and you do not need to know how to play golf to learn how to play although judging by the way that my father plays it helps to know how to putt.

Music Box: Chicago felon lawyer Lange is thrown for a loop while her Hungarian immigrant dad is implicated of heinous battle offenses and bullied with deportation. Cast includes Jessica Lange, Armin Mueller Stahl, Frederic Forrest, Donald Moffat, Lukas Haas, Cheryl Lynn Bruce, and Michael Rooker. (123 minutes, 1989)

The Pearl of Death: Deft Sherlock Holmes entry has the sleuth looking for 6 busts of Napoleon, one of which encompasses the Borgia pearl, before all the owners are killed by “The Creeper” Hatton. The Guy Who Came back: Cast is above such material however does well by it: ex-football megastar tries to “find himself.” No Time for Comedy. Cast includes Paul Douglas, Linda Darnell, Joan Bennett, Don DeFore, and Nil Mostel. (91 minutes, 1951)

Larry the Cable Guy: Whitney brings his blue-collar “Larry” personality-a beer-bellied, foulmouthed, endlessly dimwit-to the monitor in this low-lease, low laugh-quotient comedy in regards to a bungling well being inspector who examines a succession of eatery chow poisonings. “Larry” fans and aficionados of redneck humor might rate this higher.
