Brittany Favre Makes Daddy Brett First NFL Grandfather QB
Thursday, July 29th, 2010Brett Favre may not have been able to deliver a Super Bowl victory to Minnesota, but Brett Favre’s daughter Brittany Favre has delivered something even more significant: a baby boy. A new life is always precious, and the birth of Parker Brett adds a precious new accolade to the career of Brett Favre. Assuming he returns to play for the 2010 NFL season, Brett Favre could be the first grandfather ever to lace up spikes in the NFL, according to various sources. The first active NFL grandfather may have been George Blanda but that is disputed.

Favre’s official reaction is under closed doors since Brett Favre guards his family’s privacy very well. Brett Favre’s daughter cedes the limelight to daddy Brett Favre, who made the following statement to the media (See source below) regarding Brittany Favre and her son Parker Brett:
“Deanna and I are very proud to welcome our grandchild Parker Brett to the Favre family. Parker Brett was born on Friday, April 2, weighing 7 lb. 7 oz., and we’re pleased to say that both (sic) Mom, Dad and Parker Brett are healthy and doing great.”

Even though Brittany Favre’s father (and Parker’s grandfather) Brett Favre may annoy some fans with his constant retirement talk, there’s little doubt that the grandfather quarterback can still play. Many wonder if he will play long enough to be alongside Parker Brett, but of course that would be almost impossible. Favre hasn’t even decided whether he wants to retire and continue into his own business ventures such as payday loans, or if he’d rather return to the Minnesota Vikings in 2010. He’ll be 41 years old on October 10, and he’s won more games than any other starting quarterback in NFL history (181). Yet the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder says Brett Favre will likely be back for more (See source below). The publication quotes an unnamed source as saying “I think he (Favre) does not mind trying it again.”
Brittany Favre should probably wait on “trying it again” until Parker Brett is out of diapers. Then again, Brett Favre never shied away from adversity as a player. Maybe it runs in the family. Whatever Favre’s daughter may decide, she seems to have a loving family supporting her.
